We honored eight of our 2025 Teen Leaders on Sunday, March 29, 2026, and two more on Wednesday, April 8, 2026.

Some history:

The Kiwanis Teen Leaders Awards program began in 2003 to honor local teens for outstanding service to their community and leadership excellence. We have recognized 217 teens over the past twenty-three years for their volunteer service and superior leadership through a variety of programs and schools.

Nominees must be residents of eastern Jefferson County and be between the ages of 13 and 19. The period of community service must have occurred during the previous calendar year, and previous Kiwanis Teen Leader Award recipients will not be considered.

Teens from all areas of East Jefferson County qualify for the awards and all nominees who meet the qualifications are accepted to receive the award.

Suggested activities might include:

·        a project benefiting the community, an individual, a non-profit group

·        performing an act of heroism

·        outstanding leadership in school, church or service organizations combined with their community service

·        activities that demonstrate a teen has gone above and beyond for their community
